The Rising Farmworker Dream Fund is proud to announce its second annual Pre-MBA Fellowship program. The award is intended to encourage the sons and daughters of farmworkers to purse MBA degrees and in turn, develop more leaders who will channel resources to the U.S. farmworking community. Two categories of awards will be given in 2008:

1)  Pre-MBA Fellowship Award--for students applying for an MBA in 2008 (expected graduation 2011)

2)  MBA Preparation Fellowship Award--for college Juniors & Seniors interested in pursuing an MBA within 5 years

The deadline for the scholarship is June 1, 2008. We encourage students to apply as early as possible since some of the awards will be given on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please read the following terms and requirements carefully to determine eligibility:
 

  For candidates applying to a graduate business school in 2008 (expected graduation date of 2011)

  Preference will be given to applicants of Top 30 business Schools

  Top Award receives $10,000 scholarship to pay for MBA education

  Runner-Up Awards receive elite mentoring resources and financial assistance to pay for GMAT test/preparation fees

  Eligibility Requirements:

      º Son/daughter of a farmworker and/or have worked in the agricultural sector as farm laborer for minimum of five years

      º Willing to commit a minimum of 50 community service hours within the farm working community
       (scope of community service project to be determined later)

      º Applying to top business school with expected graduation date in 2011

 
 

  For Juniors & Seniors in college or graduate students intending to pursue an MBA degree in the next 5 years

  Money will be used ONLY for eligible activities related to preparing for MBA admissions
    (e.g. GMAT test/preparation fees, conferences, books, etc.).

  Student must apply to business school by 2013 (credit will be available for maximum of 5 years from date of award)

  Student will be automatically eligible to receive Pre-MBA Fellowship Award
    (e.g. will not be required to "re-apply" for fellowship during year of business school application)

  Runner-Up Awards will receive elite mentoring resources from at least 1 graduate of a top business school

  Eligibility Requirements:

        º Son/daughter of a farmworker and/or have worked in the agricultural sector as farm laborer for minimum of five years

        º Applying to top business school by 2013
